I found my fun vintage chair at Raven's Roost Antique Mall....a real bargain at $22!
It fit me like a glove and was definitely made for a woman. I was amazed at it's great condition - all the more unusual because it's style and shape revealed a chair that was probably one hundred years old! I imagined a young housewife sitting on the front porch of her 1920's bungalow, doing needlework, after all those daily chores were completed.
I chose a subdued mid-green color of paint and the chair just seemed to beg for bright spots of color to enhance it's effect. In my fabric stash I found a great piece of original needlepoint and put together a "vintage" pillow. Years before at a Saturday morning farm auction I had purchased a tiny Turkish side table and painted it a vivid chartreuse. When I placed it beside my chair - voila!! - so perfect....!!
